TNPSC Group 2 recruitment notification will be out soon this year for approximately 1500+ vacancies for various Group 2 civil services posts. The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission conducts examinations every year to appoint officers to state or subordinate positions under its purview. The government of Tamil Nadu consults and seeks the assistance of the state’s public service commission on issues pertaining to the recruitment and appointment of civil servants to various posts and related matters.

The recruitment process is delayed because of the covid scenario but it is expected to be conducted soon this year. Aspiring candidates are encouraged to apply online for the TNPSC Group 2 exam through the TNPSC online portal when the application dates are announced. The number of vacancies available each year depends on the number of posts the TNPSC is recruiting in its Group 2 civil services.

The vacancies are allocated based on categories and districts. Candidates who qualify the TNPSC Group 2 preliminary exam can appear for the main exam. Those who pass the interview will be considered for the merit list, based on their category (general or reserved) and the number of seats available at the time. Reservations for women and other categories are as per the rules laid out by the state of Tamil Nadu.

The TNPSC has released the counseling dates for the TNPSC Group 2 services (interview). This is with reference to DOE 11/11/2018 (Prelims). The certificate verification and counseling will be taking place on 15th December 2020.

TNPSC Group 2 Recruitment 2021

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission or TNPSC conducts the combined civil services 2 examination to select Group 2 and Group 2A officers to various posts. The Group 2 posts are interview posts while the Group 2A posts and non-interview posts i.e. there will be no interview round for recruitment to vacancies under Group 2A posts. Group 2 recruitment however includes an interview or oral test round that carries a weightage of 40 marks. How to Apply Online for TNPSC Group 2 Recruitment 2021

Candidates who would like to apply in the exam can directly click on the TNPSC Group 2 apply online by logging on to the official website of TNPSC Group 2, after making sure that they meet the eligibility criteria. After verifying their eligibility for the TNPSC Group 2, candidates can fill up the application form on the online portal on the official site. The following are the steps that need to be followed by the candidates while applying online:

Step 1: Visit the official website of TNPSC.

Step 2: Complete the One Time Registration process if you haven’t already.

Step 3: Click on "Apply Online" and fill in the application form with the necessary details. Ensure that the application form does not have any spelling mistakes; else, your application will be rejected.

Step 4: Proceed to the payment gateway after filling the details on the form 

Step 5: Pay the registration fee (which will depend on the number of posts applied) through any of the available modes.

Step 6: Now scan and upload a copy of your photograph in passport size and signature.

Step 7: Click on "Submit" to submit the application form.

Step 8: Print out your application form.

Step 9: Note the ID number of your application form for future reference.

TNPSC Group 2 Application Fee 2021

Candidates applying for the TNPSC Group 2 to various posts have to pay a fee of Rs. 250 towards the processing of the online application and Rs. 100 towards the examination fee. However, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Persons with Benchmark Disability (not less than 40 percent) and Destitute Widow categories are fully exempt from any fee for any number of attempts. Most Backward Classes/Denotified Communities, Backward (muslim and non-muslim) and Ex-Servicemen categories get three, three and two free attempts respectively.

Selection Process of TNPSC Group 2 Recruitment 2021

The selection process for TNPSC Group 2 includes the preliminary examination which is of objective type (OMR). Candidates who get past the preliminary exam can appear for the main exam which includes both objective and descriptive type questions. Those who qualify will be called for the interview round. Candidates who qualify all three may be appointed, in which case they must appear for verification of certificates.
